I just wanted to leave you with something to peruse before I took off
 This was meant to be included in Drawing Cats Part 5: Cat Breeds, but the subject of cat coat colors and patterns turned out to be hideously complex, so I made it a standalone document. I've tried to present it in an intelligible way, which I'm not sure is even possible given the multiplicity of possible combinations. The most helpful site I found that helped me sort this out is [link] . Different organizations don't necessarily agree on official terms, so this isn't an exact science. I may make corrections and revisions when I start working on the breed themselves and gain more understanding of that. If something's too difficult to understand let me know and I'll try to make it clearer. I know the terminology gets confusing but I can't do anything about that... Errata: The Silver-tipped color should be in red, i.e only obtainable through breeding. It's too much trouble to fix it just now  Note that the only part of that tutorial series that is complete and posted is part 4 [link] as I am not making them in sequence. |
