Still at the Padaung camp near the Thai-Burmese border. No sad statements here, just a tender scene between siblings, no different from the same in families the world over :)

Yes they start early... They speak of four reasons: it's more beautiful, it was a protection against tigers, it emulates their deity who is a swan, and it was a measure against bad luck for girls born on a wednesday of full moon (that later extended to all girls).
