I am pleased to finally unveil the Shalintî cycle!!!

The seed for this idea was planted in my mind when I created my ID and has been nagging at me ever since (as have a few people who wanted me to take it further). The idea was to make cartoon characters out of myself and the more cartoonish people in my entourage. It snowballed to pick up my desire to experiment with various illustration techniques and styles, my passion for character design and my taste for exotic and fantasy illustration. Life's too short for me to attempt them all so I rolled them all in one: I can live vicariously through the characters of the Cycle while putting myself through technical challenges. I am excited, it's going to be a lot of fun.

Shalintî descends from the "warrior by night" part of my ID. She is a traveller and a scribe, but also well-prepared for the dangers of the journey, obviously. For once, there's a good reason why one of my characters should look like me (Note that any trait or skill I give the characters in this cycle are actual or dramatizations of skills they really have.) This is her all-purpose adventure outfit and gear she carries around everywhere. The language and script are of my own invention but I don't wish to disclose anyhting about them at this time – I'm sure you can figure out the general idea anyway

I have two more character sheets planned for her: the "artist by day" part, more anchored in this world, and a ceremonial outfit for those occasions when at least some femininity is desirable

Disclaimer before the more perfectionist among you (I like you that way, though!) point it out: I don't introduce variation of line width or shading (beyond minimal metallic glints) in character sheets. I'm leaving that for illustrations!
